Three times in one week I’ve had street harassment issues.
Tonight I was walking home from the pub alone, and walked past a group of people - two girls and one guy. The guy grabbed my arms and told me talk to him, calling me sexy, laughing.

My brother enjoyed The Hunger Games. He has been known to display “laddish” behaviour, sadly, but it makes me happy that he can enjoy a film with such a kick-ass female lead.
Take note, film makers - you DON’T eliminate half your audience just by having a main character who is female. More please.

Today has been good.
Free lecture at the museum about the photography of the Captain Scott Antarctic expedition, which was amazing and interesting and stunning and tragic.
The Hunger Games for free thanks to Orange Wednesdays and Owain’s Unlimited card.

There are many reasons I love “The Hunger Games”. First off, I am one of those people who didn’t read the books until right before the movie came out. I adore books and my friends begged me to read them so I did. And I fell in love.
One of the greatest things about this novel is that Suzanne Collins turns the tables on what we are culturally told about gender and race.
